Features

Everything you need between a bug and a merged PR

Five focused tools that meet you where the work actually happens: your editor, your terminal, your repository.

AI Chat

Ask questions about your codebase in plain language and get answers grounded in the files you're actually working on.

Error Explainer

Paste a stack trace and see the root cause broken down in plain English, with a fix you can apply immediately.

Code Fix Assistant

Get targeted suggestions for messy or fragile code, with reasoning for every change so you learn as you go.

README Generator

Turn an unfinished project into a clear, well-structured README that explains setup, usage, and structure.

GitHub PR Workflow

Review AI-suggested changes as a diff, then open a pull request on your own repository when you're ready.

How it works

From error to pull request in four steps

No new tools to learn. DepDevLab fits around the GitHub workflow you already use.

  1. Step 1

Sign in with your GitHub account. No new password to manage.

  2. Step 2

    Select a project

Point DepDevLab at the repository you want to work on.

  3. Step 3

    Use AI

Explain an error, ask for a fix, or generate documentation.

  4. Step 4

    Create a pull request

Review the diff, then open a PR on your own repository.

Why DepDevLab

Not just another AI chat window

General-purpose chatbots don't know your repository, your errors, or your GitHub workflow. DepDevLab is built around all three.

Generic AI chatbot

DepDevLab

You copy-paste code and errors back and forth manually.

Reads the file and error in context — no copy-pasting.

Answers are generic advice with no link to your repository.

Suggestions are scoped to the project you selected.

You apply changes yourself and hope nothing broke.

Changes land as a reviewable diff, never a direct push.

Documentation is an afterthought you write at 1am.

READMEs are generated from your actual code structure.

No connection to your GitHub workflow.

Opens a real pull request when you're ready to ship.

FAQ

Common questions

Can't find what you're looking for? Reach out on GitHub.

Yes. DepDevLab is in Free Beta for everyone. You get 5 prompts per day in each mode (Chat, Debug, README Generator, and the rest) — each prompt good for up to 5 follow-ups — plus GitHub login at no cost.

You should be comfortable writing some code, but DepDevLab is built for students and beginners. Explanations are written in plain language, not just terminal output.

No. Every change is shown to you as a diff first. DepDevLab only opens a pull request when you choose to create one — nothing is pushed to main without your review.

Each mode gets 5 prompts per day. Starting a new conversation uses one of those 5 — but once it's started, you get up to 5 follow-up replies in that same conversation for free, before you need to start a new one (and spend another of the day's 5). The daily count resets at midnight UTC.

Any repository in your GitHub account that you choose to select. DepDevLab only accesses the project you point it at.

Not yet. We're focused on getting the Free Beta right for students, beginners, and solo developers before introducing paid tiers.
